*BBD (best before date) or date of minimum durability – Confectionery does not have a use-by date but a best before date (BBD). A reminder of the regulations: the date of minimum durability is a guideline. After this date, the product may lose some of its flavour or nutritional qualities (for example, a reduction in vitamin content), but it is not unsafe to eat. A product may be offered for sale after its best before date. This is not an offence.
