In accordance with European Regulation No. 1169/2011 of 25 October 2011 on the provision of food information to consumers, certain categories of products are not subject to the obligation to display a Best Before Date, also known as the BBD or formerly BBD.
This exemption applies in particular to confectionery products composed almost exclusively of flavoured and/or coloured sugars, as well as chewing gums and similar chewable products.
