*BBD (Best Before Date) or minimum durability date - Confectionery has a best-before date (BBD or minimum durability date), rather than a use-by date. A reminder of the regulations: the minimum durability date is indicative. Once it has passed, the product may lose some of its flavour or nutritional qualities (such as a reduction in vitamin content), but it does not become unsafe to eat. A product may still be offered for sale after its best-before date has passed. This is not an offence.
